I was asked if I know of any quotes of Tolkien's views on ethnocentrism and the supremacy of Northern European culture. Not specifically, but all of his writing points in that direction. He's always calling the beautiful women and elves “fair” and the easily-controlled southern peoples “swarthy.” He puts different aspects of the traits of White people in his Western races. Thus Hobbits are English farmers who never miss tea, and who have their own genteel class; dwarves are like Welsh miners; elves are nobility, etc. There are only four cases of racial intermarriage in all of his works, and each of them is fraught with sorrow. The Aragorn/Arwen union is almost identical to the Beren/Luthien union in The Silmarillion. In fact, Aragorn wears the same ring that Beren wore when he cut a Silmaril from the crown of the devil (Morgoth). But the point is that until the world ends, songs of lamentation are sung for Luthien because she was lost forever to the elves, having chosen mortality. Likewise, Arwen dies alone in the cold, having missed the last ship to Valinor. So it works for the purpose of a fable, but it's clear that racial intermarriage is viewed as dreadfully sorrowful. And yet there is great cooperation and friendship among the Western races, as long as their boundaries are respected, and as long as they are not driven by lust for a Silmaril or a Ring or a dragon's horde. Such a masterpiece could not be written today because it would instantly be denounced as racist, and it could never be written at any time except by a Christian. The Christian faith, as Rushdoony said, is antithetical to the "undifferentiated and shoreless ocean of being."
Kaiser Wilhelm II praised the role of women as encompassing "Kirche, Kueche, Kinder" (church, kitchen, children). In 1939, three million German women were given medals for having four or more children. (But since this happened in 1939, large families must be the work of Nazis.) German women were discouraged from smoking and dieting because it could affect the ability to have healthy children. Here are the ten commandments for the choice of a spouse, compiled in 1934:
- Remember that you are a German.
- If you are genetically healthy you should not remain unmarried.
- Keep your body pure.
- You should keep your mind and spirit pure.
- As a German choose only a spouse of the same or Nordic blood.
- In choosing a spouse ask about his ancestors.
- Health is also a precondition for physical beauty.
- Marry only for love.
- Don't look for a playmate but for a companion for marriage.
- You should want to have as many children as possible.
As the saying goes, Only the Jew won World War Tew. In 1949, it was written in the German Basic Law that women were equal in status to men. Sixty years later, Germany has the lowest birth rate in Europe and is on its way to extinction. Feminism is suicide. Jews are extremely upset because the incoming Secretary of Defense made the “quite unprecedented” statement by a government official that Israel has the only nuclear weapons in the Middle East. "The statement led Israeli news bulletins, with some pundits suggesting that former CIA chief Gates may have breached a U.S. ‘don't ask, don't tell' policy dating back to the late 1960s." The reason for this is that Israel can feign neutrality and still get $2 billion a year in U.S. aid that would otherwise go to your children. Another thing that is taboo to discuss is the fact that the U.N. has passed 66 resolutions against Israel, and Israel has ignored them all. If not for American vetoes, there would be 95 resolutions. But it only took one U.N. resolution against Iraq to "excuse" the American invasion of Iraq. Another thing that only anti-Semites are supposed to discuss is the fact that Israel is not among the 152 countries that have ratified the 1997 Ottawa pact banning the use, stockpiling, production, and transfer of anti-personnel landmines. It should come as no surprise to anti-Semites that Jews recently planted landmines in Lebanon.

I can't believe that the Michael Richards nigger rant is still all over the news. And in every single roundtable convened on TV or radio, Blacks are tasked with explaining why it is perfectly natural for them to call themselves "the n-word" but no one else can. What other word is like this? It turns the very concept of language on its head. Words convey universal meaning, and there is no elite caste that has exclusive use of any word. My wife and I were watching the DVD of the TV show "Black.White," which was all about Blacks wearing white makeup to appear White (they still looked Black) and Whites wearing black makeup to appear Black. The most interesting thing about that show is the confirmation that even successful and intelligent and well-mannered Blacks never cease making excuses for the rapper and gangster class. This is why, despite individual exceptions, Black society has never been able to rise far above the animalistic. You'll find some of the highest-class Blacks you'll ever meet in Washington, D.C., and who do they elect as their mayor? Marion Berry. But I digress. In that show, the White couple puts on blackface and goes to a Black comedy club, where they hear the word "nigger" all night long. On the way home, the White man says he can't believe how often Blacks call each other "niggers," and his wife got so angry that he said the word "nigger" rather than "the n-word" that she later considers divorcing him for his insensitivity. The funniest part of it is that the word is bleeped out but it can still be read in the captions. (I expected them to put something like "#%!@" in the captions.)
In no less than Esquire Magazine, the word "nigger" is used freely. But according to Esquire, only low-class Blacks are niggers. Chris Rock agrees: "I love Black people but I hate niggers." Samuel L. Jackson admits openly, "I'm a nigger," meaning not that he is low-class but that he is someone to be reckoned with. Damon Wayans used the word 16 times in a recent act, saying, "I'll be damned if the White man uses that word last." John Singleton admits that he's hypocritical for using the term liberally but being offended when someone White uses it. In recent days, I've heard quite a few Blacks excuse this double standard because of the "psychological trauma" of the "Black experience" in America. There's not a group of people on earth whose ancestors were not deprived or abused in some way. Millions of White Europeans were captured and enslaved. It doesn't affect us. But humility doesn't come easily to Negroes. When they feel that they are being disrespected, they lash out. Yet for many millions of White young people, being and acting Black is considered cool. So why are Blacks still so angry? The answer is partly found in competition. With few exceptions, Blacks are unable to compete with Whites and Orientals unless the rules are rigged in their favor. They understand how dishonest this is, and it makes them all the more angry. So more than any other race, they cling to the perceived deprivations of the past to explain the deficiencies of the present, and they invent bizarre rules governing language on the authority of their status of Perpetually Downtrodden. We don't have any use for senseless rules, and there seems to be no shortage of them. For instance, the weird-looking mulatto Malcolm Gladwell intones gravely, "To call someone a nigger is not as a bad as arguing that black people have lower intelligence than whites." Science must be pretty bad then. Even in the new documentary, The N Word, darkies admit that words are just words - the real problem with the word "nigger" is that it implies support for slavery. The Bible must be pretty bad then.
The freakish Gladwell also believes that "it's worse for someone to say that Jews are money-grubbers than it is to make a joke about how Orthodox Jews have large families. The first statement is groundless, and the second is at least statistically defensible." I read somewhere that Gladwell is the highest-paid journalist in the country, which is further evidence that the world has been turned upside down.
Schools are now beginning to give up on SAT scores altogether, because the blankety-blank test refuses to play along with the fairy tale of racial equality.
The governor of Arkansas says Americans can prove they're not racist by allowing Mexicans to invade their country. He was Nimrod Martin's mentor. This is what you call "conservatism" these days.
More alarming revelations about Doug Phillips. It's not unusual for people to fight over politics, but if you want to belong to Doug's pet church, you had probably better support the Constitution Party.
When the first part of the story came out, Phillips wrote a public letter to himself (from Vision Forum to BCA) saying that this matter is the jurisdiction of the church, not of Vision Forum, which is a business. But now we learn that the Vision Forum office was the location of the counseling sessions. It is also alleged that Don Hart, who is on the Vision Forum Ministries board of directors, has been circulating petitions which denounce the excommunicated family. What business does a VF board member have in defending Dapper Doug against a purely pastoral concern, unless it is to head off criticism of VF's involvement in the "discipline" process? It seems that the line between ministry and business is being blurred, as was also true for RC Sproul Jr.
We've commented many times about Doug Phillips's warmongering. The man never heard of a war that he did not call heroic, and we've questioned how Christian children are to understand the truth about America's imperial aggression, which is taking place even now, if Doug Phillips is trying to whip them into a "patriotic" fever by waving flags in their faces. That's partly why this story is so interesting. Mark Epstein was a soldier involved in combat, and like many other soldiers, he brought that aggression into his home. There's nothing unusual about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but it certainly is unusual for a pastor to overlook it when dealing with a family's domestic issues. Doug's philosophy appears to be: "The husband is angry, so it must be the wife's fault." I don't think I've ever heard of a pastor telling a woman to not "ever question, contradict, criticize, correct, or end-run any communication or decision by Mark to Mark or anyone else."
The story has raised some interesting and important questions. Does a church elder, whose biblical authority is well-defined and limited, have the right to enforce the rule that a woman should not vote or disagree politically with her husband? Must a woman be utterly silent in church? Does a woman have the right to criticize her elders, even privately, and even with her husband's agreement? Are problems in a marriage almost always the fault of the woman? When a wife is excommunicated, are vague and subjective allusions to her failure to be submissive ("lack of love") sufficient grounds?
It's also very interesting that just before Phillips refers to "Excommunication with Due Process" on the BCA website, he mentions "the biblical requirements pertaining to those under church discipline." But those biblical requirements were easily waived when it came to his friend RC Sproul Jr. Far from shunning Junior as he did the Epsteins, Phillips teamed up with Junior earlier this year for a conference on (get this) honor.

Others say that George was martyred by Emperor Diocletian, and the witness of his suffering convinced Athanasius and others to convert. If the former story is true, it is quite unfortunate, since we refuse to recognize a Christianity that is not also Athanasian. Rushdoony called the Athanasian Creed "the great creed." (It's a good idea to regularly have your children read it aloud, if you don't want them to become cultists.) It's unfortunate that the Eastern Orthodox churches rejected this creed along with the Council of Chalcedon. Rushdoony named his organization after Chalcedon, which he said did no less than begin Western civilization. He stood opposed to the "one nature" position of monophysitism, from which a multitude of heresies (and evangelical churches) spring. Like Rushdoony, we stand with Athanasius, contra mundum.

Re. Tolkien notice how friendship in his (the traditional European view) world compares to friendship in ours (a judaized perversion). In his world Legolas and Gimli became fast friends, overcoming many initial barriers. Yet in their friendship it is never presumed that (once you get over the absurdity of it) Elves had to “prove” the legitimacy and sincerity of their motivation by offering their lands for dwarvish settlement, offering their women to Dwarves, etc. In other words friendship was the coming together, freely and voluntarily, of two persons when it served their interests and did not violate the interests of their group.
Contrast that to us (limited to Whites of course) today where we can only be considered sufficiently friendly if we present everything that allows for our future survival (our space, our women, our labor) voluntarily to foreigners.
You are right. Tolkien is “racist” according to how our masters define it. White survival itself is “racist”.
There is so much wisdom in the lore of our fathers. If we will silence the serpent coming in thru every avenue of the “mainstream” - even the church - our spiritual health can slowly begin to recover.
Excellent points on the wisdom of our German brethren in the 30's. The Greatest Generation can be proud of having ended that heresy.

That's very true about friendship. Likewise, pastors everywhere think it is ungodly to refuse to open the borders or to desire White neighborhoods, schools, and churches.
A sign of the sickness is that consanguinity is associated with Nazism merely because the Nazis desired it. Jews have benefited from one of the most effective campaigns of propaganda in history, but I doubt that it would have worked against anyone except Whites, who are always eager to bend over and grab their ankles. It's inconceivable that Arabs, for instance, would sacrifice their children, their homelands, and their future to appease any minority.

That's some fascinating stuff about St. George the Martyr and Athanasius (and the Creed -which came about after his death, interestingly). Thank you for posting it.
I can just hear Fr. John yelling as he read that post, however. The Eastern Orthodox do REJECT the Athanasian (or is it the Athanasian? Maybe it's the Nicene) Creed, and the filique clause, which Rushdoony wholeheartedly defended. And you could even say they rejected Chalcedon (by affirming the decision while not consistantly applying it), but they would deny that as well.
As for Michael Richards rant, be sure and listen to Patrice O'Neal's comments defending Richards. Sean Hannity defends colorblindness while O'Neal states that he only wishes white people told him how fun racism was a long time ago.

What a joke Sean Hannity is. In that Youtube clip, he actually claimed he's never used the word “nigger” in a pejorative way, even mentally.
Right.
Then he said that only about two percent of White people have “racist” views.
This is the same cretin who uses “Independence Day” by Martina McBride as the theme song for his radio show. The song is about a White woman who burns her abusive husband to death by setting fire to the house while he sleeps. And it was reported the other day that the songwriter (forget her name) donates all the royalties she receives from the Hannity show to the ACLU.
This is conservatism today.

Mr. Burns, no, I was not yelling at the inanity of giving the Athanasian Creed primacy of place with the Apostle's or the Nicene, which latter was formulated at the First Ecumenical Council, in 325 A. D. The Athanasian (so-called) creed was a later, non-canonical compilation to stress the filiOque (please check your spelling of heresies you intend to discuss, tyvm) as opposed to the Catholic, i.e., UNIVERSAL creed that did NOT include the heretical filioque.
I find it fascinating that heretics who berate themselves that they are not part of Rome, still use Rome's aberrant theology, and think themselves not tarred and feathered with the same brush! Good day.

The Tolkien comments were very helpful. For some time now I've been struggling to adapt my thinking: I have known plenty of fine Christians of other races… a family that comes to mind is an Iranian Arab family from church. The husband's family settled in California, where he was born and came to faith. He had a burden for his people (ooooh, how racist!) and went back to Iran where he took and Iranian wife and had Iranian children. He has commented that he expects that his 2 sons will take Arab wives, and that he “was not comfortable” with the idea of his daughter marrying a non-Arab man. He only said, “Well, we're Arab, and things in the middle East aren't done like they are in America.” I've wondered what a Kinist view of our friendship would look like.
It is very much like Dwarves and Elves: just because Gimli and Legolas were close freinds doesn't mean that Gimli would ever say, “You know, Legolas, I have a sister you might be interested in.”
Re: “Nigger.” Blacks say that they are “empowered” by “recovering” a word from its “hateful” use. Next time you hear that just ask them, “If ‘nigger' has been recovered, why do blacks try to kill any white who uses it?”
The fact is that blacks can't do anything that whites can't do better, except maybe run fast. They can't even rap better than whites. So they want something that they can do that whites can't do: say the word ‘nigger'.
Black society will continue to use the “n-word” until such a day, if any should come, that it innovates something interesting and worthwhile in which whites just can't compete .
Even if that happens, whites can still fall back on art, science, technology, literature, history….

He then cites examples of how evil our ancestors were and how we need to go further in dishonoring them than even the most radical leftist desires. If Huckabee is a Christian I am not. This jew-worshipping piece of excrement said a few years ago in response to a very tepid piece of immigration reform legislation introduced in Arkansas that he “drinks a different kind of Jesus Juice” than its sponsors. It is clear who his “lord” is and it is not the Son of God but the very people who Jesus condemned.
When will this grovelling insult to White American manhood stop surrendering? If our state religion demanded he prove his obedience by slaying his son he would doubtless consider himself the second coming of Abraham. Or possibly he is another of these elitist hypocrites who only expect us powerless Whites to eat cake while he dines on caviar.

I think that the most directly Bible-influenced piece of fantasy Tolkien ever wrote was “Akallabeth,” the story of Numénor's destruction in Silmarillion.
In Akallabeth, Sauron appears as a Biblical Anti-Christ figure; he looks and sounds beautiful, having “transformed himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:14). He seduces the mortal mankind, and poisons their mind against valar and the creator of the world, Eru.
Sauron actually teaches, in private, to king Ar-Pharazon a Gnostic-Luciferian doctrine of a “hidden god” who dwells in darkness, and who is a “Giver of Freedom,” releasing men from the need to follow other gods.
Just like in the Bible, the great majority of men falls away to this doctrine and begins to persecute the loyal remnant (who stay loyal to valar) more and more harshly. Sauron makes them build a great temple where they sacrifice loyal ones, and eventually convinces king Ar-Pharazon that he must reach for immortality and declare war upon valar, invading their land. (Shades of Tower of Babel and the theme of assaulting heaven.) He does not do this out of love for humans but because he hates them and wants them to perform a suicidal act of rebellion.
By now Numénor is facing something like The Plagues of Egypt: Darkness, quakes, and lightnings that kill people. Sauron sits in the temple and defies lightnings, which do not harm him. People now say that he is a god and would do whatever he'd want.
Finally Ar-Pharazon invades the land of immortals, and valar let the Ilúvatar to take over the world. Ar-Pharazon and his men are buried and hidden under falling mountains.
The equivalent of Noah's flood follows, Numénor drowns and only a small remnant, led by Elendil, manages to escape to the Middle Earth.

You're right, Petr. Akallabeth and Ainulindale are Tolkien at his very best. Despite the fact that they had been given a great gift, the Numenoreans lusted for Valinor and to sit in the seats of the gods. It's like the story of the Tower of Babel and the Garden of Eden combined. I've probably read The Silmarillion a dozen times, and each time is like reading it for the first time. However, I think the story of Turin Turambar is weak in spots.
Maybe someday there will be a movie made, and if so, it could not possibly leave out the image of Luthien Tinuviel (the fairest child of earth), wearing about her neck a Silmaril (the greatest work of the elves) set in the Nauglamir (the greatest work of the dwarves).

In response to the deconstructionism of the Greek heritage to Western Culture from earlier posts, I post this here for general knowledge and for critique. I recently joined the Spengler's forum and got quickly banned.

I am glad to see a quote from Thomas Watson. He is one of my personal heroes when he defended Mary Phagan's honor by denouncing Governor Slaten's communtation of the clearly guilty Jew Leo Frank's sentence from death to life imprisonment with hopes of release later in the future. In his newspaper Watson refuted Governor Slaten's flimsy reasonings for questioning the evidence and called for justice for Mary, which led to Frank's lynching. Just about every book about the case paints Frank as innocent, but when one looks at the evidence, Frank is clearly guilty. The only book that supports Frank as murderer is written by Mary Phagan's grandniece, Mary Phagan Kean, called “The Murder of Little Mary Phagan”. JLH's essay that you are linked to is excellent.

If Mr. Wheeler wants to draw a connection between democracy and congregationalist church polity in America, he makes a good case. But lumping presbyterian policy in as well makes no sense. The presbyterian form of church government requires support from above as well as below; both are required to select church officers, who serve as covenantal representatives. Congregationalist polity, however, is strictly majority democratic rule.

“Spengler” is a notoriously philo-Semitic spouter of misleading half-truths.
Democracy (for better or worse) most certainly does NOT originate from Talmudic Judaism, for if anything, Orthodox Judaism has such a cathedocracy going on that Roman Catholic and Orthodox systems pale in comparison. Everything in the OT be viewed through the prism of Talmud, and private Jews who challenge the opinions of rabbinic establishment are speedily excommunicated - or worse.

Mr. Wheeler, what do you want of the folks at LG.com? I mean, even I, who have had a lot of arguments with the brethren (for, even if they are not orthodox christians, still speak for Magna Europa, and I do believe God is gracious, and will enlighten his Israel in His own good time) still feel that what they are doing here is of worth. I would much rather read the stuff here than spend my time talking to pagans about Spengler, for crying out loud!
As someone told me a few months back, when I was on a tack, ‘take a chill pill' and look at the bigger picture. Yes, Protestantism is a-historical. Yes, it denies priesthood, sacrifice, and the entire hierarchical order outlined by the Davidic Kingdom, Levitical priesthood, and society. But at least it ACKNOWLEDGES such a society existed- unlike the pagans in our midst!
So, try to be more constructive, and less destructive. Give us some solutions, instead of kvetching all the time! (Sorry, Harry, I had to ‘put in my oar.'

Wheeler: I, too, agree with what Fr. John has said in that I don't come here to study theology or learn about the Church or how to read the Bible. This site is about preserving a civilisation that was built by the Catholic Church. Whether or not the role the Church played in this society is recognised is irrelevant to staying abreast of the issues surrounding our immediate crisis.
I've argued here a couple of times about the Catholic faith against a very devout and well-meaning Protestant Christian, but it didn't do any good for either of us. I agree with your points, Wheeler, but this just isn't the best place.
I would love to sit down with a pipe and discuss the finer points of theology with you (as I do with several of the good folks here) but Little Geneva is first and foremost about saving the vestiges of a once and still great race which is under attack by Jews, Saracens, and foreigners. That is why I read this site and that is why I find it so valuable. I have learnt to let the Catholic-Protestant polemics slide, and that's what we are going to have to do if we hope to make it out of this alive.

I don't want to argue Church theology. I can see the why of the Protestant Reformation but also I see Spengler point out that it was Jewish Rabbis that instigated some of it.
What I am concerned about is Indo-European Sociology.
Do you know who Georges Dumzil is? Do you know what he unearthed?

In my study of Republics, I came across Georges Dumzil. Republics which are mixed governments are specifically a creation of Indo-Europeans and constructed in a Tripartite form. Indo-Europeans divide themselves into caste systems and into Royalty, Aristocracy and in Commons. I also noted that it was Radical Protestantism that demolished the Indo-European Structure in the English Civil War.
Protestant Theology is inherently dangerous to Indo-European social structures!
